DeepWay Australia makes its national industry debut at TruckShowX 2026

DeepWay heads to the Hunter Valley
DeepWay Australia is proud to announce its participation as a Drive Day Exhibitor at TruckShowX 2026 — Australia's premier heavy vehicle industry conference, organised by Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA). The two-day event takes place at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley on 18 and 19 May 2026, themed "Driving the Future."
Alongside established global OEMs including Daimler, Hino, Volvo, and Foton, DeepWay will be one of a select group of manufacturers bringing a vehicle for delegates to experience first-hand. With approximately 500 attendees drawn from across the Australian transport and logistics sector, TruckShowX represents a uniquely qualified audience — fleet owners, operators, and decision-makers actively exploring the future of freight.
The truck on show: DeepWay Star 6x4-600C
The centrepiece of DeepWay's display will be the DeepWay Star 6x4-600C — a purpose-built electric heavy truck featuring a 600 kWh battery pack and a rated range of over 440 km under load. Unlike conventional diesel conversions, the Star was engineered from the ground up as an electric vehicle, delivering 94% drivetrain efficiency and a drag coefficient of just Cd 0.35 — approximately 40–50% lower than a traditional cab-over.
The cab is designed with driver comfort and long-haul operation in mind: a 16-way ergonomic air-suspended seat, a 1-metre-wide sleeper berth, flat-floor layout, and a 270° panoramic camera system. Learn more about what makes the Star different on our Technology and Performance pages.
Get behind the wheel
Delegates who hold the appropriate Heavy Rigid (HR) licence will have the opportunity to take the wheel themselves, with each session running as a 30-minute one-on-one slot along an approximately 10 km loop through the resort grounds. Those without an HR licence are welcome to ride as a passenger with a DeepWay team member driving — giving everyone a genuine feel for the truck's performance, handling, and driver environment.
Drive Day booking slots are limited and allocated in advance. Conference delegates can register their interest through the official TruckShowX website at truckshowx.com.au.
Intelligent driving, built in
The DeepWay Star also features DeepWay's Tianji Accompanying L2 advanced driver assistance system, which across more than 7,000 activated vehicles in commercial deployment has reduced accident rates by 60% and driver fatigue by 50%. It's one example of how DeepWay's approach to autonomous driving technology is already delivering real-world outcomes — not just on the test track, but in daily fleet operations. The economics of going electric
For Australian fleet operators evaluating the total cost of ownership, the numbers are compelling. At Australian commercial electricity rates, operating cost per 100 km for a DeepWay electric heavy truck runs approximately $15.90, compared to roughly $53.20 per 100 km for a diesel equivalent — a saving of around 70% on energy costs alone, before factoring in reduced servicing and maintenance expenditure.

A milestone for DeepWay Australia
TruckShowX 2026 marks an important milestone for DeepWay Australia — the company's first appearance at a major national industry conference since entering the Australian market. It follows DeepWay's participation in the "Fund Your Fleet" breakfast event in Melbourne in April 2026, and reflects the company's commitment to building a direct presence within Australia's heavy vehicle sector.
Fleets and operators who would like to connect with the DeepWay Australia team ahead of or after the event are encouraged to reach out via deepway.com.au or visit our About page to learn more about who we are.
